Calvary Hills Baptist Church is positioned for growth and is seeking a bivocational Music Director to guide us to the next level of ministry. Salary ranges from $14,000 to $18,000 per year.

Below is a position description:

Principal Function: Under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and in coordination with the Pastor, the Director of Music is responsible for planning and implementing the music ministry of the Church.   The Director of Music will endeavor to stay spiritually sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leadership of this ministry.   This ministry is equally important and vital to the overall ministries of Calvary Hills Baptist Church.

Supervision: The Music Director works under the direction of the Pastor.

The Music Director's work schedule is to be coordinated with the Pastor.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and create an atmosphere of praise and worship to the Lord.

• Coordinate with the Pastor weekly to ensure music relates to the sermon or special emphasis of the service.

• Plan, organize and personally direct the Adult Sanctuary Choir and special presentations.

• Oversee Youth and Children's Choir programs, including the enlistment and training of directors and accompanists.

• Prepare music presentations such as soloists, trios, quartets, Praise Team and instrumentalists to minister during regular and special services.

• Maintain the music library, materials, supplies and musical instruments.

• Coordinate equipment use and equipment needs with the Technical Services Committee.

• Coordinate with the directors of church programs (for example:   VBS, AWANA, Mother's Day Out) as needed.

• Support the functions of the church by serving as an ex-officio member of the Church Council.

• Provide a Music Ministry Report for the monthly business meeting.
